MODESTY BLAISE was an immensely popular and somewhat risque UK newspaper strip by Peter O'Donnell and Jim Holdaway. Black-haired Modesty had been an orphaned refugee who becomes the world's greatest female spy and, with the help of her sidekick, Willie, saves the world many times over. In the film, they got the hair wrong...then they got most of the rest of it wrong, too. Some nice sixties set designs but not a good movie.
