On July 17th, 1966, the number one song on the US charts was HANKY PANKY by Tommy James and the Shondells. Meanwhile, across the pond in Swinging London (and the rest of the UK) a song I liked much better, SUNNY AFTERNOON by the Kinks, topped the charts!
